I've had experience with solar batteries similar to this one before, so I'll go ahead and get this out of the way early. The solar panel is not powerful enough to charge the battery in any reasonable amount of time. My old 4,000mAh batteries this replaced would take 3 days of summer sunlight to charge from dead, and this panel is no bigger so I imagine it would take an entire week to charge completely. Best bet is to see this as a battery that needs to charge from an electrical source, but also has the ability to put in some juice from the panel to make this basically a 21,000mAh battery for the day. Twin USB ports is a plus, charges my phone at 2.1 amps (tested based on time matching my quick chargers, not with a multimeter), and the added light function has been useful over the 3 months of ownership. 4 out of 5 for now because it seems to slowly drain if I don't cover the panel completely.

Much better than I expected.

Holds enough charge to take my Galaxy S7 from 0% to 100% 3 times before needing charged.

I went on a cave hike at a local national park. The light wasn't very great, any cheap flash light was considerably brighter but it got the job done. I didn't take off stars since the light is not what I bout this for anyways. I enjoy the feature where it can have a solid light, 'SOS' flashing, or flashing.

I followed suggested instructions on letting it charge through the wall outlet a couple times before doing the solar charging. I have not had an issue with solar charging and seems to charge fairly quickly in the shade actually. I wasn't meaning to charge it but it did start charging while I was walking in the woods to the cave for the hike. It was a continual sprinkle and overcast day while also being in the woods, but it still charged up some!

Bought these as gifts for recipients who travel and go camping. The solar charger was new to me as I have other types (different brand) that really got my family through power outages during hurricane Irma. When I saw these that can be recharged both through solar or USB (modern vehicles have USB chargers) and provide enough power to recharge several items, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg, I found the perfect gift for Christmas, and bought an extra for myself as part of my hurricane/storm pack. They came about 98% fully charged so it didn't take too long to recharge to full capacity. I have a clock in my spare bedroom with USB ports so charged it in there. Since I wanted to see how it charges by solar power, my daughter and her family will be trying it out during their Boy Scout camping spree and will report to me how well it did and I will post an update on the solar charging aspect. However, it did charge just fine by USB so thus my review at this time is reflective of that. The size is compact and not any larger than a smart phone. I just wish it came in a case, even a bag with drawstring so one could pack/transport both charger and cords together. Otherwise, I just keep it in the box as it is small enough and easy to pack that way. Bottom line, highly recommend.

I do not like camping so this is not purchased for camping, however, it could definitely be used for that. I purchased this for my husband and father in law. He and my husband golf every week and from 6:30 am till 11 or 12 noon. There are a lot of waiting when golfing and they constantly run out of battery especially if they forget to charge it fully. My husband does a lot of business on his phone so it is important that he has enough power on his phone. there is almost no plug when they are in the course so when i saw this battery charger, I thought to myself this could help them. they are under the sun, especially in the summer. they can charge using nature resources, the sunlight. It is very sustainable. Better than other power banks. Also this is about 4 times the power of my own powerbank. 20000 is good enough to charge 2 cell phones from zero power. charging was easy. you can left it in the car or take it with you while golfing.

Charged quickly, held its charge for a long time, the flashlight is VERY bright, and it withstood the water resistance test when it fell in a stream while I was out camping. It's a little slow to charge on solar, but does work... Best to charge at an outlet or electrical source.

I was really excited to have this device. Unpacked the battery and put it to work. It lasted 1 day. It died and is completely useless now. Will not hole a charge via USB and will not charge via solar now. Best part? Cannot return it now. I work away from home and they have a strict return policy. I am now outside the window.
